I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE N/C MEANS BUT,,THE CONNER
SHOULD HAVE BEEN SET AT THESES SETTINGS IN A 386,
CYLINDERS 636,SECTORS 33,,HEADS 2,LANDING ZONE AUTO,,IT WAS 21.49 MEG FORMATTED
THE WD93044 BIOS SETTINGS ARE HEADS 4,CYLINDERS 782,,SECTOR 27..LANDING ZONE 862,SIZE 43.24 MEG
YOU MAY KNOW ALL THIS BUT IT HAS TO BE SET UP CORRECTLY TO WORK,,THESE 2 DRIVES ARE VERY DIFFERENT,,IF WHAT YOU ARE USING HAS A BIOS SET UP
TRY THESE SETTINGS AND SEE IF YOU CAN BOOT
OFF THE FLOPPY AND RUN THE FDISK COMMAND,,IT
NEEDS TO BE COPYED TO BOOTABLE DOS 5 FLOPPY,,
IF IT BOOTS USE OPTION 4 TO VIEW IT'S SETTINGS,,
IT MUST BE BE MADE ACTIVE OPTION 2 [I THINK]
YOU CAN ALSO TRY SYSTEMING THE HD BY RUNNING
SYS C: YOU WILL NEED [SYS.EXE ON THE FLOPPY..
HOPE I HELPED A LITTLE

: I need help with an 386 Hard Drive. We are trying to replace a Conner CP-3024 Hard Drive with a Western Digital WD 93044. This is in a processor in a N/C Control. The Western Digital has supposedly been configured for the application. Before the Hard Drive was configured it worked in the controller but as a PC application. When we rty to boot from a DOS 5. Disk an error message comes up as "NON SYSTEM DISK". We were able to copy the DOS files to the hard drive but the system will not boot from the original system disk, a DOS boot disk or the hard drive. Any suggestions?
