Please help!!!!!!!

Socket 7 supporting ATA 66 UDMA 33 hard drives. I've tried to install ATA 100 HDD. BIOS reporting drive read error insert system disk. Is an incompatability the problem. I thought it would suppport later modes?????

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
