It's hard to tell if this will work, with the limited info you've provided. What brand/model of motherboard are you using? On some, you can boot scsi before IDE, but on most of the older ones, it wasn't a choice! The IDE always booted first.
As far as NT 3.5 supporting 80gb drives, I'm sure it can, if the system bios can. I think you'll have to partition it down to a couple smaller partitions, tho, but I'm not certain there.
Not sure what you mean about the Maxtor not going to be the Master.. Are you saying it's going to be a slave to another IDE device, like a cdrom? Unless it's another IDE hd, I don't believe that will work, altho I can't say that I've ever tried it :)
: I am trying to install a Maxtor 80GB harddrive in a PentiumII running on Windows NT Workstation 3.5. This workstation currently has 3 SCSI hard drives and the Maxtor is IDE. I am having trouble getting the system to recognize both IDE and SCSI. The Maxtor is not going to be the master. Will this work? Will NT 3.5 support this hard drive?
