Hello to all....

I bought an old server the other day for $30 from an auction
its a compaq systempro 486/33 dx , it has a EISA hard disk drive
array card installed and has four 510mb CP3501 hdd's

I took two of the hdd's out and reconfigured the setup so that
the array still works with 2 hdd's, so all is well with the server
but the two hdd's that I canabalised from it, wont work on any
other machine I try them with, I usually have a cable hanging from
my secondary ide controller so I can just whack on hdd's and it's
not an issue if they are set to master or slave, but these old
hdd's dont seem to play by those rules, I have downloaded the
specs from this site and played around with the dsp and ss jumpers
also, with the c/d and e1, e2 and e3, but nope!! nothing, the cmos
setup see's the hdd, but when in windows, I can't see it, I am in
need of any advise I can get

Thanks in advance

Harry
