Every so often Install a used HDD (mostly WD) into a IBM COmpatible mashine and then the bios does not pick up the HDD. the problem is this, sometimes it only gets picked up in SLAVE or Master or Cable select mode, even if it is the only HDD. Now I sit with a mashine with one 4gb WD and one 10gb both of them HAS to be on SLAVE (Each on seperate IDE channel) if I put another HDD as master on either channel it does not pick up any drive for that channel.
Are the HDD damaged or the Board (this is not a m/board specific problem, ) ?
