: Hello
: I have "rescued" several hard drives from a Data General we took off-line last year. The system was functional when we shut it down, but no one wanted to bother finding a new home for it, and it ended up in the local landfill. I did however remove all of the drives. They are marked as 2GB drives, but I cannot seem to locate any other details on them.
: The only information I can locate on the drives is the name Frame Electronics. The part number is listed as 86F0480 and the only other significant number looks like EC895127.
: I am not certain what I thought I would do with all of these drives, but I really want to make sure of what I have before I make any significant decisions.
: If anyone can lead me in the right direction, I would be greatly apreciative.

86F0480 is an IBM part number, for what it's worth. SCSI ID on most of the drives I have seen from Frame Electronics is set using the first 3 pairs of pins on a header looking like :::.: The first pair of pins is bit 0 of the ID. Termination is usually external to the drive.
