9gig IBM SCSI UW. Adaptec 2940uw card.
This drive is my backup (no OS). It's been fine for years.
Last week I was working with no problems, then I rebooted.
When Win98se came up, it showed a drive letter but "zero
mb used, zero mb available". FDISK says the partition is
fine and the Adaptec utility for checking drive integrity
showed no problem. However, Windows setup says the drive is
NOT formatted for Windows (which of course it has been for a
while). At the command prompt, the drive can't be found period.
So, I assume that somehow it 'lost' it's format.
(The SCSI card still powers a scsi CDR drive OK, so I think it's fine.)
I REALLY need the data on this drive and therefor cannot simply reformat.
Anyone ever seen this before?
