: I am currently running on 64 mgb ram and need to upgrade. I got a verbal quote of around $900 to install 2 32-bit chips and upgrade from 1gig to 20 gig. I also need a new disk drive and the tapes are costing around $40 a piece. My question is wouldnt it be cheaper to buy a brand new computer for around $800 than to put in all this work and effort into a computer that isnt needed?
