My hard drive recently died... I think. Western Digital says to send it back (it's still under warranty) and they'll send me a replacement. I don't want to do that though, because I have lots of valuable data still on the hard drive. I want to be able to fix the hard drive long enough so that I can retrieve the data from it. I don't want to send it to a data retrieval company, because that can get really expensive. Got any tips on taking apart my hard drive and fixing it myself? Where can I get some good info? Thanx.
