: I have a Compaq Presario with an 8G hard drive. I installed a universal bay on my computer so I can swap out a 10G hard drive which I use for school. The problem I have is that my Presario will not boot off of the 10G hard drive. The computer sees the drive, but it just will not boot off of it. I know it is not the bay because the 8G drive works fine. I know its not the 10G drive because it works on other machines. I have checked jumpers, tried booting with a startup disk, and tried booting with a Windows 98 cd with no luck. The CMOS/BIOS settings are so basic there is nothing to change. I contacted Compaq's online technical support and their great suggestion was to contact my nearest service dealer.

: Can anyone help me?
