There is a problem on some of my Mac HD's that Central Point/MacTools called the Disk Check Bug. It happens on disks of from c.100 meg. to c.1 Gig. Can cause "?" icon at startup after a crash or freeze which needs a external device, HD or SYQT disk to facilitate proper restart action the next time. Apple supposedly fixed this in the ROM at the very end of the 68040 run. This is a 68XXX problem only. Does anyone know a way of ridding a drive of this. Reformatting does not get rid of it (REALLY!!) I'm sad to say. Defragmenting helps briefly, but the problem comes back with the slightest amount of fragmentation.
