I'm curently replacing and backing up my drives at work, and in purchasing drives I'm faced with acromyms that sales people won't/can't explain.
I want to buy with knowledge, not faith.
Can someone, in PLAIN ENGLISH, explain the ATA and DMA designations on hard drives.
Also could you explain the numeric denominations assigned to these ATA/DMA terms.
