Yeah, most likely you have a HD failure or a boot sector virus.
Have you tried to go into BIOs Setup? From there check to see if your HD is being identified. If not. Run auto hardisk detect from the BIOS.
If that didn't help, open up your computer and check wire and battery connections.

: my computer will not boot up windows because it wont recognize the hard drive... when i try to use the reboot disk it does nothing for the same reason.. i have managed to get windows to boot up once or twice in the last month but both times it just froze up almost immediately.. can someone give me a clue what i should do
