WHAT KIND OF HD IS IT ? TRY BOOTING WITH BOOT DISK
THEN TYPE fdisk /mbr AND HIT ENTER,,NOTE THE SPACE BETWEEN FDISK AND /MBR,,,THIS WILL TOTALLY ERASE THE MASTER BOOT RECORD YOU WON'T SEE ANYTHING HAPPEN BUT IT IS WORKING,,THEN TRY RUNNING FDISK DELETING THE PARTITION,,RECREAT ANOTHER,,BE SURE YOU MAKE PARTION ACTIVE WHILE IN FDISK
AFTER CREATING IT,,THEN RE BOOT TO YOUR BOOTABLE FLOPPY AND TRY TO FORMAT AGAIN,,IF IT STILL DOESNT WORK I HAVE SOME HD UTILITYS THAN CAN ATTEMPT TP FIX PROBLEMS VIRUS ,BAD PARTITIONS ETC,,BUT NOTHING TO MY KNOWLEGE CAN FIX A BAD HD IF THATS WHAT IT IS

: Whenever I try to wite to my laptop drive i get> "Write protect error", when this happened I tried to format but got the same message. Next I tried to fdisk, but after deleting, and then creating a new primary partition I get the error "writing to fixed disk".
: Is there anything to be done, or is it time for a new hard disk ??
