YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET AN 8 GIG FOR THE SAME
PRICE AS THE 3 GIG,UNDER A $100,,THE PROBLEM IS HOW OLD IS THE MOTHER BOARD,,IT MAY ONLY SUPPORT
UP TO A 4 GIG OR EVEN LESS,,ON THE OLDER COMPUTERS
I HAD TO JUST TRY DIFFERENT HARD DRIVES TO SEE
HOW LARGE OF A HD DRIVE IT WILL SUPPORT,,THEN
DEPENDING ON WHAT SHE WONTS TO INSTALL ON IT
SHE MAY NEED MORE MEMORY,,32 MEG MINIMUM FOR WIN98.IF YOU HAVE A COMPUTER STORE DO IT,,THEY WILL REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE OR PURCHASE A WINDOWS
98 CD ,,A UPRADE ABOUT $90 AND A FUL VERSION
ABOUT $150,,IT WOULD HELP YOU TO HAVE A GOOD BUDY THAT IS COMPUTER LITERATE AND WILLING TO HELP
AS YOU CAN QUICKLY PUT MORE INTO AND OLDER SYSTEM THAN YOU COULD SELL IT FOR.

: Dear Friends,
: My daughter recently picked up a free computer from a friend of hers and asked me to load up some software for her. I wasn't able to load up much of anything because her hard drive was so teeny-weeny. She lives about 3 hours away in Denver and I can't remember anything about it other than it's a PC, with Windows. Anyway, we have agreed to install more storage. She wants to locate a private service and pay to have it installed. I am going to recomend 2 or 3 Gig. How much should we expect to pay and are there any pit falls we should avoid? Thanks for all your advice! Chuck
