I am trying to install a 2.6 gig Fujitsu IDE disc drive in a
Packard Bell 486 PC that has bios limitations to only see 528meg.
I have downloaded Disc Manager from the Fujitsu web page, I set my
disc drive settings the bios to type 1 which is a 10 meg and boot to dos
and try to run the Disc Manager but this reports back to to saying
the Disc Overlaod is not loaded press ALT C to continue or any other
key to exit. If I press ALT C then the system pretends to do something and
after leaving it on overnight trying to analyse all disc drives I gave up.
I have also tried to use 1024 cyl 16 hds and 63 sect in the bios and also
auto but this does not work either. Fujitsu also provided a piece of software
call DiskGo which is a Windows interface to replace or add an additional
disc drive. You select the type of drive you want to add then shut down, add #
the new drive, and then boot back into Windows then it runs a disc
copy but when I add my new drive as a slave the machine hangs at the
bluebanner saying Disc Manager loaded and then says it is not.
HELP!!!! PLEASE
