Hi.

I have a pair of Conner CFS850A drives in a Master/Slave combination to produce a single 2.1Gb drive Packard Bell called a CFS2113A (but which Conner disowned). It's on the 2nd controller of a CMDPCI0640A Dual EIDE controller. The system is a Legend 994CDT. The original main drive is now a secondary drive, though. The CD ROM and 850Mb main drive are on the 2st IDE controller.

I loaded the full version of Windows 98 last week, and the drive letters are assigned twice for each of the two partitions on the disk. There are two partitions, each 1Gb (a little less), and they are assigned drives D,E and again as G,F.

The BIOS is the latest upgrade of the PB600 motherboard BIOS -- Phoenix, I believe. I have the channels configured with Master=2113Mb, etc. Slave=None.

Any clues as to what I have to do to get Windows 98 to ignore that slave and not consider it another 2.1Gb disk? It seems to be auto-sensing in spite of the fact that I said not to,

Thanks.

-dan
