The problem is not with Windows, but probably in your BIOS setup. When you first turn on your computer you should see a message that tells you to press "DEL" or some other key to enter setup. In the basic setup, you will see the settings for your hard drives. If your system uses either AMI or Award Bios, you will be able to enter the settings for the hard drive in cylinders, heads, and sectors per track. This information should be printed on the label of the hard drives. Recent Bios versions allow an auto setting that eliminates the need for this. It sounds like you have an older computer that does not recognize these drives. There is a disk that comes with new hard drives that has a program called "disk manager" that is brand specific. If you have this disk, you may need to use this program to add EZ-BIOS or some other dynamic disk overlay to overcome the Bios limitations. If your processor is not a least a Pentium 166MMX, you will not be able to run Windows 98. It MUST have the multimedia extensions to fuction properly.
