: i installed a ADAPTEC AHA2940UW in my pci slot, then i conected my micropolis 3399ws to the scsi card, when i boot up the system the scsi card bios recognize the harddisk, model, size, and it assigs the ID0 (cero) to the disk, but when win98 start it automatically install the SCSI drivers. under system property the hard drive and the SCSI card are listed correctly, but the OS does not assign a letter to my scsi hard drive
Normally this happens when the hard drive has not been partitioned. You will need to run FDISK or the adaptec disk preparer in order to have the drive configured with a Win98 recognizable partition. Once the partition exists you can then format it in either DOS or Win98 to allow data to be stored.
: what can i do to make it work.
: thank you a lot
